Welcome to 7th Grade Social Studies
Students can make up work missing and turn in to me.
Atlanta Field Trip May 3, $70. You may pay in installments.
Also, if you can, please send in any donatable supplies.
Social Studies Requirements:
1. Participate
Feel free to ask questions and share ideas in an orderly fashion. Please
allow for instruction time before asking questions.
2. Be Prepared
Be on time to class.
Please have all class materials daily and out on desk, ready for class to
begin.
All work must be completed in pencil or blue or black ink. Points will be
deducted for others.
3. Be Respectful
Respect yourself, others, your property, and the property of others.
4. Be Responsible
Complete all assignments.
Do all of your homework.
Stay on task.
Homework
Your planner is a useful tool. All homework assignments, projects, and other
announcements need to be written in your planner on a daily basis. Homework
may consist of, but is not limited to, reading, written assignments,
reviewing notes, and research. In order to receive credit, it is very
important to complete all of your assignments. Homework will count 20% of
your overall grade.
Paper Heading and Set Up
Write your name, date, class period, and assignment on the top right hand
side of the paper.
Benchmarks count 10% and the scale will be adjusted.
Tests and Quizzes
Tests will be announced at least 2 days in advance. Quizzes may be announced
or popped. Study all notes, homework and other materials before a test.
Correct and keep all returned assignments in your notebook.

Grades will consist of class work/homework, quizzes, current events and
tests/projects.

Notebooks
Students will be expected to keep a notebook. You must have loose-leaf
notebook paper. Having an organized notebook will help in making your middle
school years a success.
Attendance/Make-Up Work
If you are absent on the day an assignment is given, you will be given 2 days
to turn in the assignment. If you are absent on the day an assignment is due
or on the day of a test, you are expected to turn in the work/complete the
test upon your return to school. Long term illnesses will be considered on
an individual basis. It is your responsibility to request the missed
assignments.
Books
Books must be covered. You are responsible for your textbooks and will be
responsible for purchasing or replacing your book if it is lost or damaged.
