What is interesting about Mrs. Belchyk?

Mrs. Belchyk is the Language Arts and Math CoTeacher for 6th grade. She is a 
graduate of Augusta State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science 
in Education. Since graduation, she has become a Highly Qualified Certified 
Interrelated Resource Teacher with a special interest in helping students 
with emotional and behavioral concerns.  

Mrs. Belchyk is a native Augustan. She and her husband of thirty years have 
two children that attended Columbia County Public Schools; both Max and Emily 
now attend college.  Prior to becoming a teacher Mrs. Belchyk wore many hats; 
such as, Building Contractor and Private Pilot.  What does she love to teach?

In Mrs. Belchyk's class, students will get a fresh start every day no matter 
what difficulties they have experienced in the past!  Mrs. Belchyk also 
encourages students to strive for their best. Should a student need help, 
Mrs. Belchyk is available to stay after school each day or she can meet 
with students before school by appointment.

Mission of Coteaching

The mission of the Classes with Coteachers is to better prepare students for 
successful understanding of the Georgia Performance Standards required for 
all students. By attending cotaught class students are better prepared for 
interactions in the classroom, at home, and in the community. Further, the 
Cotaught Class will strive to provide opportunities for students to use basic 
skills in a nonthreatening setting that provides support, and individual 
instruction to students while also being taught by an expert in Language Arts 
and Math.  Coteaching Classes are designed to bridge learning gaps 
through differentiated instruction and collaborative teaching and planning.
