I teach because I genuinely enjoy children! I try to present a firm, but
fun learning environment, where every student is treated fairly.
I've always taught middle school. This is my eighth year at Evans Middle
School. However, I have also taught in Iowa, Tennessee, Missouri, and for
Burke County. I have taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math, language arts,
social studies, and now science. Language Arts is definitely my favorite
subject.
I attended Columbia Middle School (many years ago), graduated from Evans
High School, attended ASU, joined the Army, and graduated from Austin Peay
State University in Clarksville, TN with my BA. Later, I graduated from
Baker University in Overland Park, KS with my MAED. Later, I finished my
Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership at LMU. After that I completed my
gifted certification.
I have three children; two girls and a boy. My oldest is now an 8th grader
here at EMS. My second is in 4th grade, and my youngest one is in PreK. I
enjoy spending time with my kids, running, and DEFINITELY reading!!! I have
completed two half-marathons and one marathon and hope to continue running
this year.
