Dear Parents and Students,
It's a 5th GRADE STICKER WAR!!! Every night your student needs to go on 1st
in Math for at least 15 minutes. We are having a sticker war in the 5th grade
to see which class can earn the most stickers in the month of February. The
winning class will receive a pizza party and if our class wins there will be
an additional special surprise. Please help us win by reminding your student
about this nightly homework assignment.
We will be trading valentines in our classroom at the beginning of recess on
February 14th. The students may participate in a valentine box decorating
contest if they choose. It is not required. We will be sending home a class
list in each student's agenda to help with filling out valentines.
We started our Electricity unit this week and the students have a contract in
their science folders. There is an acceleration choice board. The students
need to choose ONE of the acceleration activities to complete. The projects
will be due February 17th.

AGENDAS
We will be filling out agendas as a class each day. You can be a tremendous
help to your child by going over the assignments in the agenda and making
sure they have completed each one. Please sign your child’s agenda daily,
even on Friday.
MONDAY FOLDERS
Monday Folders will contain graded and sometimes non-graded assignments as
well as important papers that need to be returned to school. Additionally,
you will find a behavior chart attached in the folder. Please initial on
the appropriate week so that we know you have seen the enclosed work.
NOTES TO SCHOOL
Whenever your child has to miss school please send in a note the following
day. Additionally, Cobb County requires a doctor note for any absence due to
a doctor/dentist/orthodontist appointment.
IMMUNIZATIONS
All fifth grade students need two doses of the chicken pox vaccine and an
updated medical form before going on to 6th grade. As you take your child
for a check up this year please request a form that we can add to their file.
