Your child will receive a packet on Mondays and will return it on Fridays.
Homework will be sent home in a plastic ziploc bag. Please return all
homework and books in this plastic folder. Homework will consist of
reading, math and phonics. Your child will also have 10 phonics words to
study for a Phonics Review on Fridays. A Phonics Pre-test will be given on
Mondays. Your child will be given an enrichment list to study if they know
all of the words on the pre-test. The challenge words will not be graded as
your child has already shown that they have mastered the spelling pattern
for the week. The enrichment list will usually consist of vocabulary words
for the current science or social studies theme.
Homework should not take longer than 30 minutes each night.
