We will begin homework this week. The only homework your child will have
is to complete a nightly reading log. This reading log will be sent home
Monday and return to school on Friday. Your child needs to read each night
for 20 minutes. The reading log asks for title, author, pages read, date, and
parent's initials. If your child is reading a chapter book, you may write the
chapters(s) in the pages column.
Next week we will begin with our regular homework routine. I will send
home the homework packet on Monday with an explanation sheet and answer
sheets for parent use only. The homework will consist of 10 weekly spelling
words, a reading log, and two double sided sheets. Each night your child is
to practice spelling words, read for 20 minutes, and complete one side of a
sheet. I ask that a parent review and check homework each night.
