October 13th
On Thursday our class will be completing our end of the First Nine Weeks Benchmark in Language Arts. This test will be taken in the computer lab on line. The test will be multiple choice based and will include reading passages as well as grammar skills questions. Please talk to your child about trying their best.
On Wednesday, we have an Early Release Day with dismissal at 12:25. Please send a note if your child's transportation will be different on that day.
If you are wanting a great interactive site for your child to practice math facts, Mrs. Pinkard found the following site. We've used it in class and the kids love it!
Be sure you are working on creating your Market Day products. Don't wait until the last minute to do these, it can get overwhelming. Feel free to send in your advertisement at any time now. We will display them in the hallway to drum up business for your product. DO NOT send in your products until Friday, October 31st.
I have not received all of the Market Day proposals yet. Please make sure to send those in by Monday. I'd like to read them so that I can tell your child it is approved.
Friday is the big day - OUR FIRST FIELD TRIP! I will be sending home a reminder note and your class shirts at the beginning of the week. I'd like to thank Mrs. Haughey for dying the shirts for us. I really appreciate it. We'll watch the weather to see how to dress because we will be outside for a good part of the time.
Your child will need to bring either a sack lunch from home or purchase one from the lunch room. We will keep them in a cooler until we eat. If you plan on attending, you will also need to provide your own lunch. :0) Remember to bring $ with you to pay for your entrance fee when you arrive. We will not be leaving until around 9:15. If you wish to come early, I ask that you please not come to the classroom until about 9:00. The kids get a little distracted when they see their parents and there is a few Friday assessments I need to give them before we embark on our trip. 
Also, if you are coming, you can meet us at the bus port to follow the buses. I only have one parent that I know of coming, but if you would like to please give me a heads up so I know to expect you. Please tell your children that when they go they will notice a gift shop. We are not allowing children to purchase items at the gift shop due to limited time. If you come we are also asking that you do not purchase items for your child at the gift shop while the other children are there. We want to be fair and not make the other children feel bad. So you can hang out after the students have loaded the buses to do so.
