IntroductionOne day Sir Isaac Newton was exploring and observing a triagular piece of cut and polished glass. Newton was in a dark room and he was curious to see what would happen if a beam of white sunlight would pass through this prism. When the prism hit the beam of white light he was startled to see a band of rainbow colors. He called the color band a spectrum after a word meaning "ghostly vision." Newton wanted to know more about the colors cast by the prism. He had so many questions. How did this happen? How do you get color from white light? What makes a rainbow? How do colors look in colored light? What happens when color is reflected? Come on a journey with Newton and help him find out more about color and light!! |
