Personal Electronic Device Acceptable Use Contract
I, ___________________, accept and agree to abide by the following rules:
I realize that the use of personal electronic devices, including but not
limited to laptops, MP3 players, cell phones, gaming devices, video recording
equipment, is a privilege, not a right. I understand that personal electronic
devices may be used in the classroom only with approval and supervision of
the regular classroom teacher. With the exception of the cafeteria, personal
electronic devices may not be visible, may not be in use and may not be
turned on when a student enters any building on campus. I accept that
inappropriate behavior may lead to penalties, including temporary
confiscation of equipment, computer account disablement, disciplinary action,
and/or legal action.
1st/2nd/3rd Offenses: All personal electronic devices that are confiscated
will be turned in to an administrator. The student will be assigned Saturday
school for each violation of the personal electronic device contract. Once
the student attends Saturday school, the electronic device will be returned
to the student by the Saturday school supervisor. If the student fails to
attend Saturday school, the device will be kept by the administrator until
the student attends Saturday school at a later time.
Once a student violates the policy a fourth time, the personal electronic
device will be turned over to an administrator. The administrator will then
charge the student with willful disobedience, and the student will be subject
to a severe consequence. The consequence assigned to the student is based on
administrative discretion.
I release Glynn Academy and the Glynn County School System and all other
organizations and individuals from any liability or damages that may result
from bringing personal electronic devices on campus. In addition, I will
accept full responsibility and liability for the results of my actions with
regard to the use of personal electronic devices. I release the school and
related organizations and individuals from any liability relating to
consequences resulting from my use of the personal electronic devices.
