Dual Enrollment Students Tech College courses:
If you are planning to take Dual Enrollment courses at GICA through Altamaha
Technical College (Cosmetology, Criminal Justice, Culinary Arts, Heating &
Ventilation, or Computer-Aided Design (CAD) – please be sure to complete the
ATC application and take the COMPASS test before winter break. We will
hopefully be able to offer the test on our campus soon in our Media Center.
Please see me if you have any question/concerns. If you have
not registered for ATC/GICA courses, but are still interested in doing so, it
is not too late! Please meet with me asap and I will assist
you with enrolling at GICA. Please don’t miss this wonderful opportunity
to take classes at GICA. See their website for more info: www.gica.us !
ACCEL courses at CCGa:
Sophomores interested in taking college courses at the College of Coastal Georgia next year, please be sure to apply for the ACCEL program online through your www.GAcollege411.org in May. Remember that you must meet the minimum requirements to apply: 3.0 GPA (only academic and foreign language courses) and 500 CR & 500 Math SAT scores (or 21 ACT – English &Math). Please see Mr. Dittmar's website for step-by-step
instructions: http://flashmedia.glynn.k12.ga.us/webpages/ldittmar/accel.cfm.
This process is an absolute necessity if you want to ensure your tuition
charges are paid by the state. Otherwise, you will be billed for all
costs for your college courses!
So, to help keep this process
smooth, please email me the course(s) you would like to take during the Spring
semester. Then, set up an appointment to see me before
11/15/11 to discuss these options. We’ll sit down 1:1 next
week to discuss your schedule and plan. Be advised that the priority Spring
registration deadline at CCGa is November 18th. (see
email below from Ms. Howe). It is much better to complete the application
and registration process now, instead of waiting until January; so please do
not delay.
If you have been enrolled during
the Fall term, you still need to complete a new ACCEL application
for Spring Term (however,
you will not need a new college app for CCGa).
