Can I send in birthday treats?

Yes. We do ask that the birthday treats be something that can
easily be passed out during lunch.
Cupcakes or cookies are the best items to send in.

Why is it important for my child to learn their math facts?

It is extremely important to memorize your basic math facts for
addition, subtraction. Without
memorizing these basic facts it becomes extremely difficult to do
other things in math such as
adding/subtracting larger numbers, multiplying/dividing larger
numbers, decimals, fractions, and
equations. It all comes back to knowing your basic facts.

How can I help my child master their math facts?

Practice each night. Using flashcards is a great way to practice.
You can buy them or make your
own with index cards or even notebook paper. Once your child can
verbally
answer the facts, it is important to have him or her practice
writing down the answers also.
Writing the facts will take more time than just saying them
aloud, and this sometimes
prevents a student from "passing" his or her timed test. Our
weekly timed tests have 30
questions, which are to be answered in 2 minutes or less.

What do I do if my child's transportation is different for a day?

Please write me a note telling me what mode of transporation your
child will be taking if it going to be different. I can't just
take your child's word that they are going home a diferent way.
If I do not have a note I am required to send your child home
his/her usual way.

If we do not receive an excuse within three (3) days the absence
will be unexcused. Also remember that tardies and leaving early
are ONLY excused with medical documentation.
