Since we were studying rocks and minerals in science class, the Dogwood Rock Quarry was a great place to visit. Our bus became the "Magic School Bus" as we drove deep into the quarry. We got to see large trucks in action! On their large scale, we found out our bus weighed over 21,000 pounds. After our tour of the quarry and the plant, the tour guides treated us to a hotdog cookout.

Our trip was not complete until we stopped at the Savannah Rapids Pavilion to check out the river and the Augusta Canal. We even enjoyed a hike together.
