May 28th
I hope you are enjoying your summer.
You may pick up report cards today! 2 lunch boxes were left in my room- one says Life is good
and the other is green with Lindsey written on it.
Enjoy your summer!
May 19th-May 23rd
Exam Study Guide is on my study aids page. (The correct version)
Exam is Wednesday:
Be sure you can write out Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, Species.
Also be sure you know the 6 Kingdoms: Archaea, Eubacteria, Protista, Fungi, Plantae, Animalia.
Next week you only need to bring one binder to school.
Have a good weekend!
May 12th- May 16th
Intro to Life Science: The Classification System
No homework this week!
Study Guide for the exam will come home later in the week.
April 28th- May 9th
The Portfolio sheet is due no later than May 9th. The students were given this assignment on
April 24th, so they have had plenty of time to get it done by now. They do have until May 9th,
so don't worry if they have an M on I-parent. If you see an M on I-grade this is only to help
remind the students to get this completed. I had over 30 students not complete their current
event on time last week, so I am hoping that seeing the M early will help motivate the students
to get their last assignments turned in on time.
Atmoshphere, Weather, and Climate test is Friday. Students have been working hard on their study
guide this week. I will provide an additional study guide on Wednesday, and they can view the
student made ppts. on my links page.
Please let me know if you have any questions. The exam study guide will go home next week.

The Moon standards on i-parent is an assessment (moon phases and eclipses) that some students
have still not mastered. If it is missing then your child has not mastered these standards. We
will not stop until they are successful. If they have an M, please know they have taken this 3
or 4 times and still have not mastered the concept. They may need to come in for extra help in
the morning if this is the case.
I will be doing this with other standards as well; this is only meant to help the students be
successful. The grades may be low for a little while, but they will go up as the students
improve.

Planet Booklet Quiz tomorrow: You can use your booklet, so bring your booklet to class.
Planet ppt. is on my study aids and wksts link. (for anyone who needs it)
The grades for the tests are in i-parent. Good news for some, and not so good news for others.
Great job too many. If you did not do so well then we will discuss ways for you to improve next
time. The Science exam will be similar, but will also incorporate new concepts such as planets,
stars and galaxies. Continue to study your study guide in order to prepare for your exam. All
exams count 15%. Luckily, most students still have great averages due to the outstanding job
they do on class projects. If your child would like extra help studying then please send them
any morning to my room between 7:00 and 7:25 starting Tuesday. They will need a note from you
to get down the hallway. I can work with students after school as well with prior notice.
If your test score was not as high as you expected then let that be a learning experience for
you. We can not lower the standards because I know you can reach them. Here are some tips for
future tests. Study your study guide each night. Don't wait until the night before. Study with
a friend or family member. Make your own test and give it to another person (you can grade it
too) Make a powerpoint of the questions (we can even post it on this site), come in for help,
ask questions (noone asked any questions about the study guide),use the on-line textbook (self-
check quizzes, and science tutor) Any other ideas that may work for you?
