REMINDERS!!!

1)All Social Studies books are due Tuesday, 5/20. 
2)Extra Credit Current Event due Monday, 5/19. Check Classwork Web Page.
3)Social Studies Exam is Thursday, 5/22, FIRST Period for all Social Studies 
classes. 
4)No bookbags are allowed on the last day of school.
5)I.D. required of anyone (including parents/siblings) picking a student up 
early.

Phinizy Swamp Field Trip April 28-30th (see your permission slip for the 
date you will attend) Pizza, drink and dessert will be provided for lunch.
No electronic equipment allowed on trip. 

CRCT's Monday, April 21 - Friday, April 25 Get a good night's sleep and eat 
a good breakfast. BRING #2 PENCILS to class this week.


Reminder:  Make sure Interactive Notebook is in order for Monday, 3/3 for a 
Notebook Quiz. Check the Table of Contents Web Page for everything you need.

Thursday, 2/21: Africa Power Point and Presentation was assigned today. It 
is due Friday, March 14th. Please check the Class Project page on this web 
page for the guidelines.

1/7: We are continuing with Unit 5 Modern Southern & Eastern Asia this 3rd 
Nine Weeks. 

Current Event Article due Tuesday, 12/11

Semester Exam for Social Studies - Friday, 12/14

FIELD TRIP Wednesday, 12/5 8:30-1:30 -- remember to bring a sack lunch in a 
brown paper bag.

Unit 7 Test - Friday, 11/30 - Students will have a Study Reference; please 
check out notes on the notes section of web page.

Students will be assigned a project for Southern and Eastern Asia on Monday, 
11/26. It will be due Friday, 11/30 and is a test grade. Students will have 
time in class to work on the project but will also need additional time at 
home. This is an individual project. If you have any questions, please email 
me. 

Veteren's Day Assembly at 8:00 am Monday, 11/12. General Perry will be the 
guest speaker.

Angel Project is underway. My home room is sponsoring a family with a 2 year 
old boy. Salvation Army canned food drive 11/1 - 11/14. Please consider 
donating to these worthy projects to help those in need in our community. 
Thank you for your generosity.

We are beginning a new unit today. The next nine weeks we will study 
Southern & Eastern Asia (India, China, Japan, Korea,  etc.)

The essays that the students wrote concerning terrorism were very good.  
They had some great thoughts about the question, "How does terrorism affect 
my daily life?"  Please read your student's essay when you have time.  

Field Trip: December 5th - remember to return your permission slip!

9/19/07:  Remember to turn in Entertainment Books and/or money by tomorrow.
          Thanks for your support.
          Also we are starting Unit 2: Modern Middle East today.
          The Nine Weeks Exam for Social Studies will be Wednesday, 10/10.  
The Students will also turn in their Interactive Notebooks that day for a 
notebook check, which is a test grade.

9/2/07:  Remember that the student is responsible for determining what work 
needs to be made up and then turning that work in within 3 days of being 
absent.  When make-up work is not turned in within the 3 days, it will 
result in a zero for each item. Student may check web-site, posted table of 
contents in class, posted list of work in class as well as asking the 
teacher to find out what work was missed.  Please check I-parent also.

8/30/07:  Per Administration students will take nine weeks exams that will 
count 15% of the grade.  Please review the changes to my grading policy to 
accomodate this addition. 

8/21/07:  We started Social Studies Starters today.  This is a short review 
question the student will answer each day at the beginning of class.  The 
answers will go in their composition books. 

8/20/07:  We organized our Interactive Notebooks today.  The student should 
have 2 yellow sheets that explain the process as well as it is on the web 
page. This notebook should be brought to class everyday along with the text 
book.

Monday, August 13, 2007 - FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL 

What a great First Day of School.  The students have been so cooperative.  
Students will have several papers (7th grade discipline plan, individual 
teacher sheets, information sheets, etc.) that need to be signed and 
returned as soon as possible. Lockers will be assigned Tuesday and books 
will be given out over the next few days.  Everyone is off to a great start.

Thursday, August 30, 2007 6:00-7:00 pm - Team 7-2 Parent Orientation in the 
Band Room

Students need to bring all supplies (Interactive Notebook, pen, pencil) and 
book to class everyday.  

Any one that needs makeup work or has questions should see me at a quite 
moment during class to find out what they need to do.  I am also here at 
7:00 am or after school until 3:00. Check the website or the assignment 
board also.
