Hello Everyone! Welcome! This is my eigth year teaching at Greenbrier
Middle. I have been here since the school opened. I am a graduate of
Georgia Southern University where I received a bachelor of science degree in
Communication Arts in 1988. In 1994, I earned a Master of Education degree
from Augusta State University in Middle Grades Education, and in 2006, I
completed my Education Specialist degree at ASU in Teaching and Learning.
This is my sixteenth year teaching, and I have taught sixth grade, seventh
grade and kindergarten. I love being a teacher, and I really love it when
kids are excited about reading!
I have two daughters, Aubri and Joli. Aubri is fourteen, and Joli is nine.
They both attend Columbia County schools. Aubri is a ninth grader at Evans
High School, and Joli is in fifth grade at Greenbrier Elementary. We have
a chocolate lab named Shayla and two kittens, Moo and Paris.
In Literature and Writing this year, we will be experiencing many different
genres, or types, of literature. We will be reading and writing poetry,
short stories, plays, folktales, fiction, nonfiction, biographies,
autobiographies, science fiction, and novels. We will participate in many
different types of activities that will enhance our learning experiences.
