WELCOME TO 7TH GRADE
I have been very impressed with the students behaviour and attitudes! I am
looking forward to a great year!
My website was down until yesterday, so I hope it is up and working now. My
classroom expectations and grading system went home with your student today.
THe first homework assignment is due tomorrow. A decorated file folder with
Life Science theme was assigned. Other than 1st period, all classes had
time to work on the assignment
in class yesterday and they can take it home tonight to complete. It is due
tomorrow
and will be graded based upon neatness, attractive, colorful and Science
theme.
We will be starting the year off with a review of the metrics system and
scientific method.

Gifted 6th period
A project on "All about a Scientist" was discussed and information given on
Thursday August 14. Some students have already chosen the scientist they
were interested in reporting on. Everyone needs to have their scientist
picked by Monday August 18 as we will be researching in the library Monday
and Tuesday. Projects are due Wednesday August 27th. I am looking forward
to
lots of creativity and enthusiasm for Science!!
This will be homework every night until project is due.
Orientaion Team 7-1 Thursday August 21st at 6:00 in the media center. Hope

Monday - August 18 - review for quiz on metrics system. We have done
several worksheets in class on
metric conversion. If your student is having difficulty review some of the
problems from the worksheets
with them. Quiz Tuesday August 19.
Science books are new this year! PLEASE make sure they are covered. At this
time the textbook is not
available on-line. I will share more information at orientation THursday
night.
Tuesday August 19 - Homework - definitions for chapter one are due Thursday.
Time in class was
given to get started on these.
Wednesday - finish definitions
Thursday - review of scientific method
Friday -
Bubble lab in class. If data not finished in class due Monday. Rubric given.

We will be doing a lab on osmosis which involves vinegar and corn syrup. If
