Meet Ms. Crockett!
Hi! I’m Ms. Crockett, and I welcome you to our class! I think I have the best job in the world. I am looking forward to a great year of getting to know you and helping you to learn more about this great andchallenging language of ours. We will all work together to become better communicators. I want to share a little about myself to help you get to know me a little better. As the year progresses, I look forward to getting to know you all much better too. I grew up in Albany, Georgia, where my dear Mom and my brother and his family still live. My husband, Michael, is a real estate professional, and he and I live here in Marietta with our youngest, Colleen, who will is studying Commercial Photography this year at North Georgia Technical College. Our middle daughter, Bess, graduated from Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah with a degree in theater performance and is pursuing her acting career in Minneapolis. Our oldest, Aaron, graduated from UGA, is a sales consultant for McKesson Corporation and now lives with his wife Kim, our precious grandbaby Katie, and their great golden retriever Maggie in Acworth. We still mourn the loss of our fifteen year old mixed breed terrier dog, Luckie, one of the cutest dogs in the world, who passed away in February. Our family loves travel, music, swimming, and all kinds of games. I graduated from Valdosta State College with degrees in English English Education and earned my M.Ed. in English Education from UGA. (Go DAWGS! ) I've taught for 25(!) years and transferred to Hightower five years ago from East Cobb Middle School. I am SO happy to have joined the wonderfully warm Hightower family. I’ve always known that I wanted to be a teacher and consider it to be both a blessing and a great responsibility. I believe, among other things, that... ...little things mean a lot... ...music, books, and art feed our minds, bodies, and spirits......first things should be first......my students are some of my greatest teachers......things go better with laughter...and dark chocolate covered almonds......we reap what we sow......life is as fun as we make it...
…and that we’ll make this year fun and successful!! |
