Kindergarten Awards Criteria

Each student will receive a kindergarten achievement certificate at the end of the school year during the award ceremony. In addition, awards for outstanding math and reading will be given out. Students have to meet certain guidelines to receive these awards. The guidelines for these awards are listed below. Lastly, citizenship medals will be given out at the kindergarten awards ceremony. Unfortunately, not every student will get one of these medals. There is a criteria for receiving this particular award. The criteria is listed below.

 

Citizenship medal

1.    All good citizens for the school year automatically receive a citizenship medal. (These are the students that are selected every nine weeks) Four of these students are picked each year.

2.    In order to receive a citizenship medal, a student could not have received a red light during the course of the school year.

3.    In order to receive a citizenship medal, a student could have only received a maximum of 5 yellow lights during the course of the school year. If your child received 5 yellow lights or less during the school year, he will receive a medal at the ceremony.

4.    Outstanding reading award- Student knew 30 or more sight words

5.    Outstanding math award- Student was able to count to 30 and identify numbers 0-30
