Classroom Rules

Classroom discipline problems can prevent effective teaching and learning.  In order to provide each child with the learning environment he/she deserves, discipline problems MUST be kept to a minimum.

  1. Treat others the way you want them to treat you. Be kind with your words and actions.
  2. Keep your hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
  3. Clean up your area when you are finished.
  4. Raise your hand before speaking. Only one person talks at a time.
  5. Obey all school rules.
  • Severe Clause: Any student who physically hurts another child, uses profanity, or disrupts the class in such a way that the other children are directly affected, will be sent to the office immediately.
  • It is important for you to go over the classroom rules with your child at home.

Discipline Policy

Each student starts the day on green. If undesired behavior occurs there will be consequences.

  1. First offense: Verbal warning
  2. Second offense: The student's name will be written on the board and he/she loses five minutes of center time or recess.
  3. Third offense: A check will be placed by the students name and he will be moved to yellow. Student loses all of recess.
  4. Fourth offense: Student is moved to red and loses all of his/her recess and center time.

Note: Student's who stay on yellow and red consistently throughout the week will not be able to participate in Fun Friday and I will make a phone call home. Students are allowed to bring a G rated movie from home and have a fun snack every Friday.

Students who stay on yellow or red repeatedly will get an office referral. They will have to take their work to the office and be given In School Suspension. If a student stays in the office due to misbehavior, he/she may fall behind. If a student falls behind, he/she will have to make up all work that was missed resulting in loss of play time and extra homework.
