I was born and raised in Atlanta. I have a younger sister and an older
brother. I attended Rocky Mount Elementary, Davis Elementary, Mabry Middle
School, and Lassiter High School. GO TROJANS!!! I went to Kennesaw State
University for my undergraduate degree and my master's.
This is my seventh year of teaching. I previously taught at Garrison Mill
Elementary for two years, one in fifth grade and one in kindergarten. Then I
transferred to Keheley Elementary, where I have been teaching second
grade for the past four years.
I have the cutest dog named Layla. She is a Boxer and German Shepard
mixed whom I adopted from the pound. She is currently 5 years old, but is
still as energetic as the day I got her.
A few of my favorite things... spending time with my family, reading,
going to the beach, eating (anything and everything), going to the gym, going
to the Spa, watching movies, playing with Layla, and teaching. I
love to spend the weekends watching football. I love to watch UGA and the
Falcons. I attend several of the games throughout the year. I also love to go
to the beach.
A little fact you may not already know about me...My mom is the cashier
in the lunchroom, Mrs. Darlene!!!
My mission for the class is for every student to gain new knowledge of
themselves and of the world around them. I want them to become responsible
students who will grow and embrace that responsibility to learn new, fun,
and exciting things through their experiences. I believe EVERY child can
learn and succeed in life. I want all of my students to realize and reach
their full potential. They can achieve anything they put their mind to, when
they try. I believe in using good manners. Can't is not a
word in our classroom. Every student is different but equal. While we are
working hard and learning all of the 2nd grade material, we will have fun
doing it!
