Thanks for visiting my site. This will be my 23rd year of teaching science.
After getting my Masters degree from The University of Tennessee, I
enjoyed teaching & traveling in Nevada & Central Germany. I have taught on
both the middle & high school levels in a variety of sciences. I then married
moved back to the South where I taught at Pebblebrook for several years
before coming to KMHS in 2001. I Love working at KMHS!!
I believe in saving the environment, the benefits of travel, experiencing new
cultures, Pilates & producing students who are better prepared for high
school & learing more about science after having my course.
I am also one of the sponsors of the Science Club.
My classes are said to be challenging, yet fun. I am one of those teachers
that will stand on the desks. We have lots of subjects to cover for the End
of Course Test in Biology and we move through the material at a constant
pace. (In Physics, I must prepare you for the Graduation Test.)
It will be up to you to stay with me. If you find you need extra help,
please come and talk to me, come to my personal or the school's science
tutorials, or use my website "Links" & get additional help. I will
challenge you to do your very best while encouraging you to become a
responsible and mature student. I believe students should be able to think
in science & not just memorize information. Memorizing facts may earn you
A's in some classes but it does not prepare you for the future, college, &
higher level science clases. Industry/business, current national
science standards & the Cobb County Mission Statement support this
philosophy.
