The Annual Awards Banquet is on Tuesday, 22 April 2008 in the LHS Gym.  The event begins at 1830 (6:30pm).  All families are invited and asked to bring a desert or covered dish and something to drink.

The Annual Formal Inspection (AFI)was Thursday, 28 February.  A special thanks goes out to the participating cadets.  We scored 589 points out of 600 and kept our 'gold star' representing a Unit of Excellence.  Go Panther Battalion.

Our annual service learning project is approaching fast.  We are helping the community by working at the Golden Harvest Food Bank on Saturday, 16 February 2 - 4pm.  The  location is 1831 Old Savannah Road.  Cadets must wear their JROTC T-shirt or hoodie and report at 1:45pm.  Each participant earns a service learning ribbon.  Please pick up your cadet promptly at 4pm. Visit my "Handouts" page for a strip map to the site.

The 2nd Annual Haunted Trail was a huge success.  A special thanks goes out to the Dobsons and all of the cadets and their parents who donated so much of their time to this event.  We raised over $1200 to help purchase new rifles for JROTC.  We heard nothing but positive comments about the trail.  Can't wait for the 3rd Annual Haunted Trail.  It's going to be "Off the Chain".

The Legion Sleeover is next Friday, 9 Nov 07.  Cadets report from 4 - 5pm.  The schedule starts at 5:30pm.  Parents, please pick up your cadets between 11:00 - 12:00 on Saturday morning. We ask that each parent send in a dish, side, dessert, or snack for the cadets...Thanks!!!  Our next sleepover is on Saturday, 8 Dec 07.  Mark your calendars!!

Our 1st Drill Sergeant (DS) Inspection is on Wednesday, 14 November.  Cadets, get your pants hemmed, patches sewn on, and make sure that you get your uniforms ready in advance.  See SGM for any uniform items that you need.  The uniform for the day is Class A uniform.  Our next DS inspection is 12 December.  Get ready, get ready, get ready!!

The Legion Drill Team/Color Guard is performing at Lakeside Middle School's Veteran's Day celebration on Friday, 8 November at 9:00am.  Please come out and support them.

Congrats to Mr. Billy Wilson our new Booster Club President.  The next Booster Club meeting is Tuesday, 16 October, 7pm.  Parents please attend.  We look forward to seeing you!!!

Uniform Wear this week (31 Oct 07) is Class A uniform.  Concentrate on brass and shoes. If you turned in the Quest for Victory forms, you are exempt from uniform wear this week (Except for Cadet of the Month board members and candidates)

The Panther Battalion has 154 cadets...WOW!!!  We are on our way to adding another Army Instructor to our staff.  All that is required is to have a repeat of over 150 cadets next year.  We are so excited about this new accomplishment...Panther Bn HOOAH!!

The 1st uniform wear is Wednesday, 29 August.  Wear your Class B uniform (trousers w/belt, green shirt-no tie, white t-shirt, with Garrison Cap).  A

Mini-Camp was a huge success this year.  We had 57 cadets enrolled.  We had Drill Sergenats form Fort Gordon assist with the camp.  On Thursday the cadets went rappelling and on Friday after graduation we had a huge pizza party.  Visit the Panther BN Photos page to see your cadet at mini-camp.

 Greetings Panther Battalion,

For cadets needing to sew on patches, remember that the Lakeside patch goes on the right and the JROTC patch  on the left 1/2 inch down from the shoulder seam.

NATIONAL CHAMPS!

Congrats to our JROTC Legion Drill Team for winning the National Championship in Exhibition Drill in Daytona, FL this weekend.  LHS beat out teams from across the country to win the title!  Way to go, Panthers!
