About SGM Gary

-Born 30 January in Detroit, MI.  Raised in Baltimore, MD.  The oldest of 
three children plus one.

- Going into my 10th year as the Panther Battalion JROTC Army Instructor and 
loving it even more!! Boy how time flies.  I oversee the State and National 
Champion Exhibition Drill Team and the State and National Champion Color 
Guard.  I also instruct the first and fourth year cadets.

-Retired (honorably) on 1 September 2002 with over 24 years in the US Army

-Served in Kuwait during Desert Shield 1991 as a Platoon Sergeant

-1 year in Korea as First Sergeant of 169th Signal Company 

-3 years as First Sergeant of Regimental Noncommissioned Officer Academy, 
Advanced Nonocommissioned Officer Course (ANCOC), Fort Gordon

-Final assignment as Directorate of Training Sergeant Major, Fort Gordon

-Earned AA degree in General Studies from University of Maryland (1992)

-Earned a BS degree in Organizational Magagement from Voorhees College, 
Demark, SC (1999)

-Earned a Master of Education degree with Southern Wesleyan University, 
Central, SC (2008)

-One son Jeffery Paul; 28 years old.  He lives in Dallas, Texas with my two-
year old grandson, Jayvion.

-An active member of Faith Outreach Christian Life Center in Hephzibah, GA 
where Richard B. Peoples, Sr. is Pastor.
