Isn't programming boring?

Programming is only boring if you like a very set routine. Programming is
actually a different challenge all the time!

Is it true that programming is only for guys?

Absolutely NOT! I am not a guy and I enjoy programming. Programming is in
many things around us - cell phones, iPods, iPhones, laptop computers, video
games, the Sims, DVRs, etc. It is also in MANY fields of study such as:
computational media, bioengineering, human-computer interaction and much
more. Because our society is so dependent upon computers, programmers are
needed in many fields.

Do I have to be good at math to take Beginning Programming?

You have to have successfully completed Algebra I. Two links between math
and computer science are logical thinking and problem solving.

Do you give a lot of homework?

I do not give a lot of homework in the classes I am currently teaching.
Most of what we do will be in-class assignments, but you will be expected to
study for exams or pre-read case studies, etc. My syllabus will give you
more detailed information.

Is your class "an easy A"?

If you participate and do the work, YES! If you don't, NO! We will have a
lot of fun in class and I make no apologies for expecting you to learn.
Afterall, that is why we are all here.
