Welcome to the 2011-12 school year!

My name is Beth Westfall and I am the Speech-Language Pathologist working with the ADAPT program. I am so excited to be a part of the ADAPT program! Speech-language services at the Monarch School are provided in the most functional mode to meet the ADAPT student's needs. Communication skills may be targeted in the classroom, around the school, at the student's job site or while the student is out in the community.
A communication disorder (speech-language impairment) is a communication skill which differs so significantly from that of peers that it calls attention to itself, disrupts communication or affects emotional, social, intellectual or educational growth. There are four major categories of speech-language problems: Articulation, Language, Voice (quality, pitch, volume) and Fluency.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions at (678)542-2379 or email me at Beth_Westfall@gwinnett.k12.ga.us.
