Dear Parents and Students,
Thank you for a wonderful conference week. It was so nice to see all of
you and discuss your child's progress. You truly made those long days
worthwhile and meaningful.
In Social Studies we will be discussing how America became, "Bigger,
Better, and Faster" after the Civil War. Our discussions will involve the
vast number of immigrants who entered this country at the turn of the
century. In lieu of our traditional 5th grade immigration project, the
students will be working on a Family Heritage Project in the computer lab. We
will still hold our well loved Immigration Day, and we will be sending
details home as the day approaches. In science we have begun experimenting
with Electricity and Magnetism. In Language Arts we will
be working on persuasive writing to prepare us for the state writing
assessment in March.
Thank you for everything you do with your children. It shows in school
when they receive your support at home. If you have any concerns or questions
regarding your child’s education you may contact us through email or
the school’s phone number. Our email addresses are:
jennifer.reardon@cobbk12.org and sarah1.brown@cobbk12.org. The school’s phone
number is 770-578-7265. Please feel free to contact us at any time.
Thank you,
Jennifer Reardon & Sarah Brown
