Schedule For School-Wide Highlight of Attitudes and Learner Profile

2011-2012

It is vital that there is a focus on the development of personal attitudes towards people, towards the environment and towards learning. Attitudes contribute to the well-being of the individual and of the group. In accordance with the International Baccalaureate Organization's (IBO) ideals, we are striving to continue our commitment to fostering positive attitudes that lay the foundation for enabling children to become global citizens.

This year will focus on each Attitude or Learner Profile attribute for 2 weeks. The attributes and descriptors of the Learner Profile define the type of learner the IBO hopes to develop through its programmes. PYP curriculum documents describe the PYP Learner Profile as “the common ground on which PYP schools stand, the essence of what they are about” (Making the PYP happen, 2000).
