of Attitudes and Learner Profile
2011-2012
It is vital that there is a focus on the development of personal attitudes towards people, towards the environment and towards learning. Attitudes contribute to the well-being of the individual and of the group. In accordance with the International Baccalaureate Organization's (IBO) ideals, we are striving to continue our commitment to fostering positive attitudes that lay the foundation for enabling children to become global citizens.
This
year will focus on each Attitude
or Learner Profile
attribute for 2 weeks. The attributes and descriptors of the Learner Profile
define the type of learner the IBO hopes to develop through its programmes. PYP curriculum documents describe the PYP Learner Profile
as “the common ground on which PYP schools stand, the essence of what they are
about” (Making the PYP happen, 2000).

curiosity. They acquire the skills necessary
to conduct inquiry and research and show independence in learningThey
actively enjoy learning and this love of learning will be sustained throughout
their lives.
