Band Home

Fall 2012
This fall, all 6th grade students will be enrolled in one of the two beginning band classes.  There are two sections (Woodwind and Brass/Percussion), students may choose either.  No experience needed, we all start from the very beginning!
On Tuesday, May 15th, Ken Stanton Music will be at NDA to assist students with instrument selection.  Factors involved in instrument selection include the quality of your "musical ear", rhythmic awareness, breathe control, lip and teeth shape and personal desire to learn a specific instrument.  Here are three links that may provide more information on instrument selection.
How To Choose (form Wiki)
With the boundless resources of the internet, there are many more sites that provide information.  Please discuss with your child what 3 instruments they would like to try out on May 15th.
Sign up forms are due Thursday, May 17th.
