Mrs. Leonard comes to Notre Dame Academy with many years of International
Teaching experience. She is currently beginning her sixth year with NDA in
the capacity of a Kindergarten Teacher.She has had the opportunity, and been
granted the priviledge of being nominated and winning the title of RBC
Teacher of the Year award.
Previously Mrs. Leonard taught First Grade in the U.S. Public School System
for three years. In that time she completed her Georgia Teaching Certificate.
She was also a mentor in the school Psychologist Mentor Program, identifying
and counseling children with special needs.
Mrs. Leonard originates from South Africa where she taught in various
schools, from the Private Sector to Public School Education. She has taught
grades Pre-K through 4th grade, and has held positions of responsibility,
including Head of Department and Assistant Principal.
She completed her degree in Education in Cape Town, South Africa, at the
Cape Peninsula University of Technology, and majored in Early Childhood
Education with Educational Psychology and Remedial Education.
Notre Dame offers Mrs. Leonard the opportunity to use her International
experience to teach children in a global manner, using the inquiry and
integrated based methodology of the International Bacclaurette Program. She
is passionate about children and their education and is a vibrant and highly
motivated educator.
