The Week In Review (May 14th-18th):
* We reviewed all vowel, consonant and digraph sounds. We made up rhymes with ocean animals and filled in the blank with a story "What Do You See Down In The Sea?" Our pictures and stories will be displayed in the hallway before the classroom door.
* We measured paper fish using non-standard forms of measurement. (paper clips, cubes and crayons) We practiced writing all our numbers 1-20.
* We continued our science unit on the "Ocean". We are studying the many types of living things that live in the ocean. We enjoyed our field trip to the Georgia Aquarium and seeing hands-on the ocean life.
* In Spanish the children learned the names of ocean animals in Spanish. The children colored a picture of animals under the sea.
* In Art the children completed pencil sketches of insects. Next week they will outline the drawings and paint them with watercolors.
* In Religion Mrs. Colletta talked to the children about the ascension of Jesus into heaven. The children "acted out" the scene of Jesus speaking and blessing the apostles and how he began to rise into the air. Ask your child some of the questions on the religion handout this week.
Coming Up Next Week (May 21st-25th):
* We will continue our "Oceans" unit learning about creatures under the sea.
* We will be completing end-of-year assessments for report card purposes.
* We will have field day on Wednesday from 8:30-10:00.
