relationship within and between them; access to equal opportunities; peace and
conflict resolution
Central
Idea:
All living things have basic needs
Lines
of Inquiry:
·
the
difference between living and non-living
·
similarities
and differences between plants and animals
·
basic
needs of plants and animals
·
caring
for plants and animals
Ways
to support student learning at home:
·
Go
for a walk outside and inside and decide what’s living or non-living.
·
Talk
about the differences between living and non-living
·
Go
to the library and find books about plants and animals
·
If
you have a pet, talk about the needs of the pet and what your family
needs
to do to look after it
·
Plant
a small garden and help your child care for the garden and find out
what
they need to do to keep it growing
·
Look
at plants and animals in nature and discuss how the drought is making
it
difficult for living things, including us!
Most
of all have fun talking with your child and finding out things together!
