About The Teacher

Hi! My name is Dara Williams. I have been married to my husband Anthony for
17 years. We have three sons, two of whom are here at Odyssey with me.
Kale, my oldest, is 14 and is beginning his freshman year at East Coweta High
School this year (Go Marching Indians!). My twins, Cameron and Connor, are
10 and are 5th graders here on the Tiger Team. After 16 years at Crossroads
Church, we felt God leading us to move to Line Creek Baptist Church this
summer, where we have been attending since June. We have been part of the
Odyssey family since the school opened in 2004. Kale began 2nd grade here
the first year (in Mr. Yount's class!) and I began teaching here two years
later when Cameron and Connor began Kindergarten. Before coming to Odyssey,
I taught 6th and 7th grades at Flat Rock Middle School in Fayette County for
nine years. I have an English degree from the University of Georgia, my
teaching certification from the University of West Georgia, and my gifted
certification from Georgia State University. My hobbies are reading, jewelry
making, and sleeping. I am also an avid Bulldog fan who is so thankful for
the football season! This is my fourth year as the ILT (Instructional Lead
Teacher) for the 4/5 cluster. I have also served as the teacher
representative on Odyssey's School Board for the past three years. I
am thrilled to be back in school and look forward to another awesome year!

Mission For The Class

My hope is that I can help my students learn as much as possible and to have
fun doing it. I have always loved school and I want to share that with the
kids. I want to light a fire and create a passion in the students for
learning. It shouldn't be a chore, but a joy. In a teaching workshop we
learned that by the time these students are out of school most of the
information they have learned will be obsolete. It is not enough to give
them knowledge, we must help them learn to learn and to be innovative
thinkers and problem solvers.
