You must work on the rough draft of your essay every day until it is complete.

Your rough draft should be typed and saved to a flashdrive for you to use in the computer lab today.  If you cannot save your essay to a flashdrive, email it to your school email address.

Your poem to be read to the class is due today.

Your poetry test is today.

Gifted Freshmen must have three posts about Summer Reading novel on www.nicenet.org.

College Prep students will have their first quiz over the first section of root words.

Aug. 19
College Prep students will have their mythology video quiz.
Gifted students will write an in-class essay over their Summer Reading novel.

Aug. 22
Gifted students will take a test over all root words.

College Prep students will take a test over their Summer Reading novel.

College Prep students' vocabulary flashcards are due today.

All students have a vocabulary quiz today.

Nov. 1
All students have a test on the novel Anthem today.

Nov. 2
All College Prep students have an essay on Anthem today.

Nov. 10
All students teach their vocabulary word.

All student have their vocabulary quiz.

Nov. 14
CP students have a short story test over "The Lottery," "The Sniper," "Lamb to the Slaughter," and "A View From the Bridge."  They need to review the worksheets for each of these stories to study for the test.

Nov. 18
Gifted students have a test on the novel A Lesson Before Dying.

Nov. 18
CP students will have a test on "Casey at the Bat," "The Cask of Amontillado," and "The Most Dangerous Game."  All of these stories are in the literature book in case students want to read them again at home.  In addition to taking notes in class and completing and studying the worksheets that accompany these stories, students can answer the questions at the end of these pieces of literature in the textbook.

Dec. 1
CP students will have their Unit 6 Vocabulary Quiz.  Gifted Students will have their Unit 7 Vocabulary Quiz.

Dec. 2
All students have their performance essay today.

Dec. 9
All students have a unit test over the material covered in class on types of essays and resource materials .

Dec. 12/13
All students will have a Gwinnett County Post Semester Exam.  CP students will have their Unit 7 Vocabulary quiz during the second hour of the two-hour block period.
