How do I make a change in my child's transportation?

If your child has a change in transportation please send a note with your
student stating the change. Make sure you tell your child it is their
responsibility to remember to give the note to me when they get to school. If
it is a last minute change please call the school at 678-765-5110 and they can
notify me. For the safety of your children, written notification of transportation changes is the
school policy.

What should I do if my child is absent?

I appreciate getting e-mails letting me know if your child will not be at
school that day. That way I can organize their make-up work as we go through
the school day. You must send a note to school with your child when they
return to school to receive an Excused Absence. (If you have sent me an
e-mail about their absence, that can take the place of a written note.) If
your child is out for more than 2 days, please contact me so I can make
arrangements for make up work to be sent home.

What is the best way to contact the teacher?

Communication between home and school is important so don't hesitate to
contact me if you have a question or concern.

There are several ways to contact me:

E-mail is my preferred method although communication though this will be
brief. If you have a concern that needs more than a quick response, send me
an e-mail asking that I call you and a good number to reach you at before or
after school.

You can call the school at 678-765-5110 and they will leave a message that you
called. I will return the call when I am available to do so.

You can also send a note with your child to give me when they arrive at school.

Can I eat lunch with my child?

Our lunch time is 11:50 - 12:20 each day. You are welcome to come and join
your child for lunch after the first few weeks of school. Please meet your
child outside the lunchroom door. The cost of an adult lunch is $3.00. Since
it is a long time before lunch, we will be having a morning snack in our
classroom each day. Please send in a healthy snack for your child each day.

What about homework in third grade?

The students will have agendas where they will record their nightly homework
Monday - Thursday. I will put the homework for the next week in the
newsletter on Fridays so that if you have a busy week you can plan accordingly.
It is expected that all homework will be completed by the next school day
unless stated otherwise. It is very important to help our students learn to
manage their time and complete homework so that are successful in their learning.

What does it mean if my child get's a check in their choice card?

A check on the choice card indicates that the student chose not to follow a
school rule or procedure after being given a warning. If a check has been
given, there will be a note in the student's choice card with a brief explanation.
Students who do not receive any checks during the week are rewarded each Friday.
