How do I make a change in my child's transportation?

If your child has a change in transportation please send a note
with your student stating the change. Make sure you tell your child it is
their responsibility to remember to give the note to me when they get
to school. For the safety of your children, written notification of transportation
changes is the school policy.

What should I do if my child is absent?

I appreciate getting e-mails letting me know if your child will
not be at school that day. That way I can organize their make-up work as
we go through the school day. You must send a note to school with your child
when they return to school to receive an Excused Absence. If
your child is out for more than 2 days, please contact me so we
can make arrangements for make up work to be sent home.

What is the best way to contact the teacher?

Email: a great form of communication, but please do not use it
and expect a quick response. It is not always convenient to check email,
therefore please understand that there may be a delay in my response. On
occasion, I may go all day and not be able to check email. Thanks for
understanding.

Agenda Book: Great place to write a quick note. Remind your student
to show me the note first thing in the morning.
I can respond right beside your note.

Phone Calls/Conferences: Please allow 24 hours for phone calls to
be returned and at least 48 hours for conferences to be held.

How do I eat lunch with my child?

Our lunch time is 11:27-11:57 each day. You are welcome to come
and join your child for lunch after the first few weeks of school. Please
meet your child outside the lunchroom door, and sit with him/her at the visitors' table.
We will be having a morning snack in our classroom each day.
Please send in a simple, healthy snack that does not require
a spoon or fork for your child each day.

What is the homework routine?

The students will have agendas where they will record their
nightly homework Monday - Thursday. They will write homework assignments in their
agendas each morning as one of the first jobs they complete when they
enter the classroom. It is expected that all homework will be completed by
the next school dayunless stated otherwise. It is very important to help our
students learn to manage their time and complete homework so that are successful in
their learning.

What does it mean if my child gets a check on their choice card?

A check on the choice card indicates that the student chose not
to follow a school rule or procedure after being given a warning. If a check
has been given, there will be a note in the student's agenda or choice
card with a brief explanation. A check on the choice card will make a
difference on the conduct grade.
