Coach Adkins grew up in Augusta and attended Aquinas High School. He
graduated from Samford University in B'ham, Alabama with a B.A. in Church
Recreation, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Masters of Arts
R.E, Augusta State University with a B.S. in Health and Physical Education
and Cambridge College with his Education Specialist in Leadership. He is
married to Joan Adkins- 7th grade Science teacher at Stallings Island Middle
School. They have 2 children- Christy 26 & Ben 24. He also has 2 dachshunds-
Bama & Samson. He is an avid ALABAMA fan and loves to go to the beach,
boating or repairing things. He is a deacon at Warren Baptist Church.
Coach Wessner grew up in Lancaster County Pennsylvania. In 1992 he came to
Georgia to attend the Georgia Institute of Technology. He graduated from
Georgia Tech with a Bachelors degree in Industrial and Systems
Engineering, and from Valdosta State University with a Masters degree in
Health and Physical Education. He is married to Alison Wessner, and has 4
adorable children: Anson 8, Julia 6, Ella 4, and Caroline (newborn June
2011). When Coach Wessner is away from school he enjoys watching and
cheering for Georgia Tech, playing with his kids, golfing, fishing, and
camping. He and his family attend First Presbyterian Augusta.
Danielle Starcher is a graduate from Georgia Southern University, Mrs.
Starcher earned a Music of Education degree. Mrs. Starcher is also certified
for Level One Orff, a method of teaching students music through experiential
learning. Mrs. Starcher earned her master's degree through Lesley University
in Creative Arts and Learning and completed her specialist degree through
Augusta State University.
Mrs. Starcher was honored to be recognized as 2007-2008 Columbia County
Teacher of the Year.
Courtney Owen attended the University of Georgia earning a B.S.Ed. and
M.A.Ed. in Art Education. She has also earned a Sp.Ed. in Curriculum Design
and Instructional Technology from Valdosta State University. Mrs. Owen was
recognized as Westmont Elementary Teacher of the Year for 2003-2004, the 2007
Outstanding Teacher in Visual Art by the Morris Museum and the Wachovia
Corporation, and the CSRA Environmental Teacher of the
Year in 2010.
That EACH student will strive to do their best in all activities and learn
activities and skills for a lifetime of enhanced health and physical fitness,
music, and visual art.
