Coach Adkins grew up in Augusta and attended Aquinas High School. He
graduated from Samford University in B'ham, Alabama with a B.A. in Church
Recreation, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a M.A.R.E,
Augusta State University with a B.S. in Physical Education and Cambridge
College with his Education Specialist in Leadership. He is married to Joan
Adkins- 5th grade teacher at Riverside Elementary. They have 2 children-
Christy 23 & Ben 21. He also has 2 dachshunds- Bama & Samson. He is an
avid ALABAMA fan and loves to go camping, boating or repairing things. He is
a deacon at Warren Baptist Church.
Coach Russell grew up in Martinez, GA - I attended Evans School and
graduated in 1965, after graduation I entered Augusta Tech and received an
associated degree in Drafting and Design and then entered the U.S. Air Force
where I served my country for four years. I than entered the University of
Nebraska and received a BS degree in Health and Physical Education and
received my Master's degree from Troy State in Education Foundations. I
taught at Evans High School and Greenbrier High School for 26 years and
retired from public schools in 2006. I teach Architecture at Augusta Tech in
the evenings. I am married (38 years) and have 4 children and 8
grandchildren. I enjoy sporting events, playing golf, tennis, cruising and I
am very active in my church - Riverview United Methodist Church.
Coach Wessner grew up in Lancaster County Pennsylvania. In 1992 he came to
Georgia to attend the Georgia Institute of Technology. He graduated from
Georgia Tech in 1996 with a Bachelors degree in Industrial and Systems
Engineering, and from Valdosta State University with a Masters degree in
Health and Physical Education. He is married to Alison Wessner, and has 3
adorable children: Anson 4, Julia 2, and Ella 11 months. Coach Wessner's
family has recently had a new addition: a 2 month old Pug named Paris. When
Coach Wessner is away from school he enjoys watching and cheering for
Georgia Tech, playing with his kids and dog, golfing, fishing, and camping.
He is an elder at Stevens Creek Community Church.
That EACH student will strive to do their best in all activities and learn
activities and skills for a lifetime of enhanced health and physical fitness.
