Homework

Homework is assigned on Monday through Thursday nights. Please check your
child's folder each night for Homework and important notes from school. Thank
you for all of your help to make this the most productive year possible for
your child.

Read! Read! Read!


Don't forget to write name on homework papers

Homework: Read to or with your child and write the title on the October Log.
Work on sight words every day! Have your child say his/her address, Columbus,
and North America daily.Practice story "The Wagon".

Tuesday – Practice writing first and last name on lined paper.               
Math:  Sort coins at home giving name and value.
                   Penny, nickel, dime, and quarter
Wednesday - Handwriting:  Jj, Ww, Yy   Math:  Exchange a nickel and a 
                       dime for pennies with your child
Thursday – Writing:  Write sentences using words eight, three, and nine. 
                         Ex. I have eight toys.  She saw three spiders.  We 
hear nine horns.

If your child is behind in learning letters and sounds, please work on these 
letters and sounds. Review: Mm, Aa, Ss, Dd, Tt, Pp, Ii, Nn, Gg, Oo, Bb, Cc, 
Kk, ck, Uu, sh, Ee, Ll, Ff, Hh.
New: Jj, Vv, Ww, Yy, Rr
All students need to know all letters and sounds at this time.  
Your child needs to know the letters and sounds to read and write to meet the 
standards.
