We are beginning our unit on Animals. We will explore: the body
parts of animals, how they move, grow and change, how mother’s are
different from their babies, and how we are different from each
other.
Reading:
We will work on Gg and the sounds of g. We are reading informational
books as we explore the genre. We are also learning to write an
informational piece. We will focus on pre-writing, labeled drawings,
and the Table of Contents. Each child will write about one topic
giving factual information, not opinion. We will also be working on
blending sounds to make words.
Essential Questions:

Mathematics:
We will practice exchanging coins and buying items.

Social Studies:
We are learning the meaning of President’s Day.

We are comparing animals in various ways.

How are animals the same and different? SKL2
Sight Words: Your child has a list in his/her Homework Folder with
sight words checked that he/she knows. Work this week on the highlighted
words that do not have a red star next to them. Each child will be working on
different words. Use these words in Homework assignments for sentences.
Make sure the list remains in the folder so that I can retest and check
Homework.
