Who is the Counselor

Who is the Counselor

My name is Angela Miller. I was born and raised in Greenville, Alabama by my two wonderful parents, Hubert and Myrtice Miller. I have four older sisters, 3 nieces, 11 nephews, 1 great niece, 4 great nephews and I will stop there because my family is very large.

My immediate family consists of my daughter Natalie and me.  I adopted my daughter Natalie last August 3, 2006.  She is 11 years old and she is a 5th grader in Mrs. Rozakos’ class at Sara Harp Minter.  My other “children” are Miss Kitty, Coco, Sox, Tom and Thomas (our much loved cats) who, of course, are spoiled rotten!

I received a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, a Master's degree in Counseling and an add on degree in School Counseling. I am presently working toward obtaining my EdS. in School Counseling.  I am a member of the Georgia School Counselor's Association, the American School Counselor's Association and the Fayette School Counselor's Association.

When I began my studies in Psychology it was my dream to work with children but I actually began my counseling career as a Counselor in the Mental Health Field and remained there for 5 years. I then worked as a Rehabilitation Counselor for one year but my long time dream of working with children was too strong to deny.

I went on to work in Troup County and Walton County as a school counselor for 4 years. I then came to Fayette County and worked as a part-time counselor at Kedron Elementary and Spring Hill Elementary for a year. Now, in my 6th year at Sara Harp Minter Elementary, I know that I have found not only the most wonderful school in my career to work in but I have also found an extended family in the faculty, staff, parents, and students.  I feel blessed to be a part of your child's educational life.
