Welcome everybody! I am very excited to begin another exciting year at
Smith.
For those of you who do not know me, I would like to give you some
information about myself. This is my fourth year at Smith, in which I spent
the first two years as the Drama Specialist. Before Smith, I taught third
grade in Gwinnett County and I am looking forward to my second year on the
Fifth Grade team.
I am originally from New Jersey where I lived up until I left for college.
During that time I spent ten years involved in musical theatre throughout NJ
and in New York City. Singing, dancing, and acting are strong passions of
mine and I am able to utilize these skills in my teaching.
I completed my undergraduate degree at Penn State University, where I
received my Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising. Afterward, I completed my Post-
Baccalaureate Certification and Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from
Drexel University.
Some of my hobbies in Atlanta include playing in co-ed softball and kickball
leagues, trying out new restaurants, seeing shows at The Fox Theatre, and
running. I have completed several half marathons in the past two years and
my first full marathon this past January. I recently caught the travel bug
and spent three weeks this past summer in Italy where I enrolled in Italian
language classes. I have always wanted to learn Italian and I plan to
continue language classes in Atlanta this year and return to Italy next
summer.
Again, I am looking forward to a wonderful new year with you and your
student. I encourage communication, so please feel free to contact me at any
time and I will do my best to respond as promptly as possible. In addition,
please visit my website for updates information regarding activities going on
in the class and in the school.
Miss Abromitis's mission for the class is to create a close class community
and provide a each student with the confidence and determination to work
toward and achieve their goals.
