This is my 11th year teaching French at Sarah Smith and I have enjoyed every
minute. I love teaching French at the elementary level. The children are so
enthusiastic and we have a great time in French class!
I graduated from the Ohio State University with a BA in French and a
Master's in foreign language Education. GO BUCKS!

The students at Sarah Smith receive French every day for 30 minutes.
We have a communicative program that is based completely in the target
language. So from the minute I roll into the classroom with my cart to the
minute I leave, the children only hear and speak French. Because the
students are immersed in the language every day for a half an hour, they
truly have an amazing comprehension level of the language and develop
productive language skills more naturally.
Atlanta Public Schools is one of the few systems that has an articulated
1-12 foreign language program. That means that students who begin a
language in kindergarten or first grade and continue a long sequence through
high school actually have a chance to become fluent in a foreign language.
