What is the Challenge Program?
The Atlanta Public School's Program for the Gifted and Talented, also known as The Challenge Program, is flexible and individualized to provide for the maximum development of academic talents. Guidelines for enrollment in the program are available at each school. The APS Gifted Program operates in every APS school although service delivery models vary from site to site. The academic focus of the APS Gifted Program follows the recommended Georgia Gifted Program Curriculum Standards and includes instructional activities designed to assure that the students who participate in our gifted program develop and demonstrate: Advanced critical thinking skills Advanced communication skills Advanced research and reference skills Advanced creativity skills An understanding of the impact of their giftedness on their social and emotional well beingBack to Top

What is my child doing differently in your class from his/her homeroom?
EVERYTHING!! My class is a place where the children are free to think & learnhowever they choose. There is limited direct instruction in challenge, whichallows the students to guide their own learning.Back to Top
