PHYSICAL EDUCATION GRADING GUIDELINES
Policy- Grades are based on the students participation and their
overall conduct in physical education. Various components
representing the physical education grading rubric appear below.
Points for Physical Education Classes:
Each day that a student has physical education he/she may earn up to
ten points. Every rubric infraction that occurs during physical
education will result in a five point deduction. At the completion
of each quarter, the teacher will divide the number of points that a
students has by the number of possible points that were available.
For example if there are eighteen days in a quarter, the maximum
number of points would be 180. Therefore, if a student received 170
points they would have a 94 percent. This percentage will be the
basis of their physical education grade. The point deduction and the
receipt of ten points are based solely on our physical education
rubric listed below.

Parental Notification
Please note that when a student is not able to abide by the items
located in the rubric, a disciplinary report will be sent home to
the parents to be signed. The signed document needs to be returned
to the physical education teachers within two days of it being sent
home. The disciplinary report will have an item or items checked
that indicate which areas the student was deficient in that day of
physical education. Parents will be notified via a telephone call if
a students grades are changing in a positive or negative direction.
