About The Teacher

It seems to me that my decision to become a teacher was predetermined when I
was a little girl. I always enjoyed babysitting and teaching kids younger
than me. My decision to enroll in University of Hartford's Early Childhood
Education program was easy. Teaching seemed to be second nature for me.
After graduating, I worked at High Meadows School in Roswell as a second and
third grade teacher before coming to Sarah Smith. Upon coming to Sarah Smith
I was excited to continue applying my teaching skills through the IB
programme.

In 2007, I made a career leap from the classroom to the computer lab as the
Sarah Smith's Technology Specialist. I am currently working toward my Masters
of Education in the field of Technology at Lesley University. I look forward
to working with your students to advance them in the field of
technology.

My husband and I live in Dunwoody with our twin boys Brandon and Colin and,
our little Shih Tzu Maisie. In our free time we enjoy spending every minute
we have with Brandon and Colin watching them grow and change.
My goal in teaching this technology program is to provide a challenging yet
enthusiastic environment that is based on standards set by the Quality Core
Curriculum for the state of Georgia in combination with the IB concepts. I
have included some of the academics of the regular classrooms in order for the
students to have a well-rounded technology curriculum. In addition, I am
teaching typing skills to each of the grade levels preparing the students for
their future with technology.
