About The Teacher

Dr. McKinnon came to Sarah Smith in December 2002 upon retiring from the 
Jefferson County School System in Birmingham, Alabama. She brings to Sarah 
Smith twenty-five years experience in the regular classroom, gifted 
classroom, and as an assistant principal at the elementary and middle school 
levels. Dr. McKinnon has developed and directed teacher education training 
progams for the University of Alabama in Hunstville, including the Teacher 
training progrom with Space Camp.  She has also worked in the private sector 
as Director of an international organization which worked with the Russian 
Space program.

Mission For The Class

Dr. McKinnon's mission for her class is to develop a love and excitement of 
learning that will carry her students through life.
