The format for teaching JGB has been modified. We will usually only spend the third week of the month doing a JGB story. There will not be any formal assessments given that specifically test story knowledge. Rather, students will be encouraged to stretch their thinking to apply thier natural sense of inquiry to questions that arise from the reading. Independent activities, completed during our small group instruction block the week following a JGB story week, will extend the student's comprehension, elicit creative responses, and reinforce GPS taught using the text.
