FAQFrequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
What happens if my child changes his/her afternoon transportation? Send in all transportation requests IN WRITING in the student's daily folder. Please indicate how your child will be getting home from school on that particular day. Yes, we have a snack each morning between 9:00 and 10:00. Please send your child with a healthy snack each day. (Candy is not allowed.) Students may also bring a water bottle. How do I pay for my child's school lunch? You may send in cash with your child and this will be put onto his/her prepaid account. You may also make advanced payments to your child's "prepaid" account via mealpayplus.com. If you have further questions, please contact Sarah Smith office staff at (404)842-3120. How do you celebrate birthdays? We love to celebrate birthdays! If you would like to provide a treat of some sort for your child's special day, please send it to school with your child or you can bring it to the cafeteria during our scheduled lunch time. (11:15a.m. - 11:45a.m.) Cupcakes, cookies or anything individually served tend to be best for birthday celebrations at school. If your child does want to celebrate his/her birthday at school, please be sure to send in enough for each student in the classroom. (20 students) How do I contact my child's teacher? Your child will bring home a daily folder and an agenda which is one option for communication. Notes and transportation changes can be sent in this folder. Additional ways to contact me are via email at: michelewelf@yahoo.com or phone messages can be left with the office staff at (404)842-3120. What time should students be at school? Students may come to the classroom as early as 7:30a.m. If possible, I would like for all students to arrive by 7:45a.m. This gives them time to get their morning procedures/assignments taken care of before 8:00. If your child has been absent or is behind on assignments, then arriving at 7:30a.m. would be a great way for them to have some extra time to complete their work. Students arriving after 8:00 will be counted as tardy for that particular day. |
