Homework

The nightly homework will be posted on the agenda mate on the board. Students
are to copy down assignments into their agenda and I am to initial it. After
students complete their homework each night, please review it and initial the
agenda.

Students will be assigned nightly homework. It is expected that students are
to read 20 minutes each night. You reading with your child or your child
reading to a sibling/parent also counts towards this 20 minutes. In
addition, they are to complete the daily math homework and practice math
facts for 5 to 10 minutes. On some nights, I will also send home langauge
arts homework or other assignments. This will always be listed in the agenda
so be sure to check it nightly.

Each day we will review and check homework. Homework will not be scored on
correct/incorrect answers but is graded on completion. All that I ask is
that students try their best and attempt each question/problem. If you
notice that your child is experiencing difficulty with homework, please let
me know so that I can work with him/her. In certain cases, I may also modify
his/her assignments. Homework is assigned to practice skills that we have
been working on in school and not meant to be a source of frustration for
you or your child.

Homework will go back and forth to school in your child's "Don't Forget"
folder. Unless otherwise noted, homework is to be returned the following
morning. This is your child's responsibility and only written notes from
parents/guardians will excuse a child's homework from being considered late.
