What have we been up to??
Reading: Our focus for the week of 3/14 is- Identifying Character Traits
using clues provided by the author. Also defining words using context clues..
Please have your student practice applying these skills with you by either
identifying them from their independent reader at home or even from a family
television show that you watch together:-)
DON'T FORGET, "STICKY NOTE- NOTES" ARE DUE EVERY FRIDAY!
Math: We recently completed Unit 8. Continue to have your student practice
adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing with decimals, rounding to the
nearest whole or decimal place as well as placing decimals in order from
least to greatest In Unit 11, the primary
focus is undertanding weight and capacity along with angle measurement...
AS ALWAYS- CONTINUE TO PRACTICE YOUR MULTIPLICATION FACTS!
Science: we have begun our study of SPACE this FINAL nine weeks. Have your
student familiarize themselves with the relationship betweeen stars and
planets, day and night cycle and MOON PHASES. Have your student view the
night sky to locate the constellations we can see during this time of year.
Have your student observe the changes in the moon.......
Social Studies: We have concluded our study of the American Revolution- come
in and check out our class graphic organizer and some the the projects
hanging in our room!
Writing: Students will be writing Persuasive Pieces and Respondng to various
literature this nine weeks!
Your student should write EVERYDAY- Have them journal about their
personal experiences:-)
Please remember, students should bring a snack EACH DAY- we have snack at
9:15 and many students are forgetting their snacks which are depleting our
emergency supplies:{
